PLEASE READ if you are not replacing with the same make and model Waterway pump: There is no industry standard for unions, the various brands have their own unique style and thread size. Which means you must use the unions provided with our spa pump. This will most likely involve cutting off your old unions and installing the new ones shipped with the spa pump. If your heater is directly coupled to the spa wet end, then our pump will probably not work as the union will most likely be different. Be sure to look at the motor voltage, not the voltage supplied to the spa to determine the correct pump voltage. When removing power cord from existing pump we recommend you mark your wires for "common", "high speed", "low speed". The pump does not come with a power cord. The connection diagram for the new pump is located on the motor name plate. The pump head can be rotated by simply loosening the motor thru bolts and turning the pump head, allowing the discharge to point to 3 O'clock or 9 O'clock.
Not Self Priming - Water must be above pump head in order to operate properly.
Effective July 19, 2021 the US Dept of Energy regulations on single speed, two-speed and booster pumps go into effect.
Please check your local and State codes to comply with their requirements for replacement pump motors.

California: This replacement pump motor does not comply with California's Efficiency Regulations. These regulations can be found in Title 20, in the California Code of Regulations (CCR) sections 1601-1609. To meet California’s requirement, the replacement pump motor must be a variable speed.
New York: New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Section 509.23 as adopted the same standards as the State of California Title 20 laws. This pump/motor fails to meet these new regulations. Consequently, shipping this pump/motor to New York is illegal and violates state law. Should an order for this item be placed with a New York shipping address, we will be forced to cancel the order.
Familiarize yourself with the laws and building codes in your state and local area in regards to replacing pump motors, in order to adhere to their regulations.
